In a recent interview with Marketwatch’s Chuck Jaffe, Jason Browne, FundX chief investment officer, focused on one consistent market leadership trend: the outperformance of domestic funds over international funds.
“There haven’t been any international funds that have been performing anywhere near close to their domestic counterparts,” Jason said. Leading domestic funds are a mix of growth and dividend funds as well as sectors like home builders and utilities. (An excerpt of Jason’s interview was posted Monday, June 4, 2012, on the Marketwatch blog, The Tell.)
Jason’s extended interview was broadcast on Jaffe’s MoneyLife show (click here to listen) where he offered additional analysis, explaining that “the market likes the idea of large companies versus small companies, growth versus value, and domestic versus foreign.”
In the “Hold Em or Fold Em” segment of Jaffe’s show, Jason responded to rapid-fire challenges from listeners around the country, providing insights into investments like Dodge & Cox International Stock Fund (DODFX), iShares MSCI Emerging Markets (EEM), ProShares Ultra Short 7-10 Year Treasury (PST) and Pimco Emerging Local Bond Fund (PLBDX).
